Welcome to Cavendish Lodge! We're right in the heart of Keighley town centre - just a stone's throw from the bus station and a short stroll from the railway station. We've been caring for little ones since 1991 and proudly joined the 1st Safari family in January 2006. Our nursery is home to four fantastic playrooms: one cosy space for our 0-2 year olds, a busy room for our 2-3s, a buzzing pre-school room for 3-5 year olds preparing for their next big adventure, and of course our very own unique space for larger than life toys and experiences, filled with sensory and soft play fun! Every single one of our practitioners is qualified to Level 2 or above - because your children deserve the very best! Out the back (yes, it's like our own little Tardis - it just keeps going!), you'll find our extensive outdoor play area complete with two main areas. One for getting down and messy! A messy child is a happy child - with mud kitchens, construction areas, sand, water... you name it, we supply it! Then our second area: our physical burn-off-that-steam zone! A lovely decking area leading to our grassy land and of course our very own 'growing garden' where little green fingers get stuck in! We believe outdoor play is essential, so come rain or shine, adventures happen outside every single day. We're passionate about celebrating every child as an individual - we know children develop in their own unique ways and at their own pace, and we embrace that wholeheartedly. We're also big on healthy habits, with daily tooth brushing and nutritious meals! Stephanie
Legend has it that Steph arrived at Cavendish Lodge for "just a temporary stint" back in 2015. Ten years later, she's still here - and at this point, we're fairly certain the building would simply refuse to function without her. Armed with her PGCE in Early Years Education and 15 years of experience growing up through the 1st Safari family, Steph has evolved from temporary manager to permanent institution to Area Support and Development Manager for the entire nursery group. She keeps Cavendish running like a well-oiled machine (with help from an absolutely fantastic team who she credits for everything), while simultaneously supporting and strengthening provision across multiple nurseries. How does she juggle it all? Honestly, we're not entirely sure she sleeps. What we DO know is that she's the group's in-house Ofsted expert, having survived so many inspections that she's started having dreams where she IS the inspector. Recently, she's taken on her most challenging role yet: being mum to baby Seraphina. Finally, it's HER turn to experience the chaos from the other side!
Darren
Meet Darren - our resident party planner, dance floor captain, and the human equivalent of a double espresso! With 13 years in Early Years (armed with his BTEC Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development) and at Cavendish Lodge since 2016, Darren brings boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm to absolutely everything he does. If you hear cheesy pop blasting from Pre-School and spot tiny humans perfecting their best dance moves, you've found Darren's domain - he's always staying in the loop with the latest crazes so the children are never behind on their moves! A firm believer that life is for celebrating, any excuse for a party WILL result in a party happening. Whether it's making magical memories with the children at nursery or spending precious time with his own family at home, Darren lives by one rule: make every moment count and have an absolute blast doing it!
