Welcome to Mazehill Nursery! We've been part of the 1st Safari Day Nurseries family since 2008, nestled in the heart of Chapeltown - a bustling village with shops, restaurants, and local markets right on our doorstep. Getting here is a breeze whether you're hopping on a bus, catching a train, or zipping off the M1! Our nursery is spread across two wonderful buildings: the main nursery for our little ones up to 3 years, and a dedicated pre-school building for children aged 3-5. Both have their own outdoor play areas where adventures happen rain or shine! Our qualified and enthusiastic team is passionate about creating a warm, caring environment where every child can flourish. We're all about providing a happy, safe and stimulating space where your little one can develop their social, physical, cognitive and creative skills to their full potential. We're always here for a chat - whether you have questions, concerns, or just want to share your child's latest milestone. Pop in for a visit and see the magic for yourself!
Under 3 months? We may be able to help! Children younger than 3 months can be accepted on a case-by-case basis — book a tour and we can discuss your needs.

Laura
Laura's Mazehill story is the stuff of nursery legend - she first bounced through these doors as a bright-eyed 16-year-old student and basically never left! After qualifying, she worked her way through every single room and role (yes, ALL of them), becoming a bit of an expert in everything from baby sensory to pre-school graduation tears. In February 2025, she finally got the keys to the kingdom and became Nursery Manager - though let's be honest, she was running the place in spirit long before that! Laura's passionate about creating the kind of environment where children don't just learn, they absolutely thrive. Her secret ingredients? Open communication, heaps of care, and enough consistency to make even the wobbliest toddler feel secure. When she's not orchestrating the wonderful chaos at Mazehill, you'll find her at the local park with her two young children - expect muddy shoes, rosy cheeks, and the kind of laughter that makes strangers smile!
Katie
If you can hear laughter echoing down the corridor, chances are Katie's nearby! She joined as Deputy Manager in February 2025, bringing with her 15+ years of childcare experience and enough energy to power a small city. Armed with her Level 3 qualification and freshly minted Level 3 SEN training, Katie's on a mission to help every single child reach their full potential - and she'll probably be dancing while she does it. She's absolutely obsessed with inclusive practice (in the best way possible) and genuinely lights up when talking about supporting children and families. Building relationships is her superpower - give her five minutes and she'll know your life story, your favourite food, and probably your nan's maiden name. When she's not being the heart and soul of Mazehill, Katie's busy being mum to two teenagers, travelling the world in search of new cultures and cuisines, or adding to her legendary coat collection. Her husband might tell you her real obsession is Tupperware though - and honestly? He's not wrong!
